About the Role As a Paediatric Advanced Registrar you will be providing paediatric assessment, treatment and care of patients from birth to adolescence. You will have excellent exposure to all aspects of general Paediatrics. You will have and the chance to participate in MDTs and be involved in visiting specialist clinics.

The role involves 3 Paediatric clinics a week with a mix of medical problems, developmental Paediatrics including ADHD and ASD and Gateway assessments. On call is covering inpatient SCBU and consulting for all children admitted to the inpatient ward. Teaching duties will include House Officers working for DCH, Trainee Interns and medical students and at times allied health professions.

This role is accredited by RACP for Advanced training in General Paediatrics, Community and Developmental and rural components. Applicants should have completed basic training and be working as an advanced trainee, ideally in the last 1-2 years of advanced training. This is a permanent full time role (1.

0 FTE). The working hours are 8.00am to 5.

00pm daily Monday to Friday with on-call during the week 5.00pm to 8.00am, with weekends at 1:5.

Call is on the SMO roster with backup SMO rostered on. About the Team/Service/ Location Nelson Hospital is a secondary level hospital with a dedicated children's ward, level 2 newborn unit, outpatient department, developmental therapy services. Visiting tertiary specialist clinics occur in neurology, genetics, rheumatology, cardiology, paediatric surgery, and cystic fibrosis.

The Paediatric department has a strong emphasis on forging and maintaining community links, both within Nelson and across to Blenheim. For more information on living and working in Nelson click here About you As a Paediatric Advanced Registrar, you will: be post FRACP examination, and be working as an advanced trainee, hold valid registration or be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ), be committed to delivering quality assessment & treatment have strong interpersonal skills and collaborate well with all ages, have excellent time management and organisation, The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
